Bone wax is an inert and malleable material that is used as a hemostatic in bone defects, consisting of a mixture of purified beeswax and petrolatum. It is indicated as mechanical control of bone hemorrhages in Neurosurgery,
orthopedic surgery and trauma, chest surgery, maxillofacial surgery, cardiac and vascular surgery.
